Staff members in the Houston School District recently wore pink to support second grade teacher Terisa Ward, who recently completed radiation treatments for cancer.

Terina Hayes provided shirts for Ward’s students that read, “Mrs. Ward. 2nd to None.” The shirts include each child’s hand-written name.

“The significance of wearing pink is that we all support finding a want a cure for cancer,” said LeAnn Edington, elementary principal. “It becomes very personal when it is one of our own family members or elementary family. The whole staff –– men and women –– wore pink in support of our elementary family member, Mrs. Ward.”
