Three Houston organizations have teamed up to take needed items to College Heights Christian Church, which is the official distribution center for Joplin.

Items are being accepted through 5 p.m. Thursday at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce, First Baptist Church and David Adkison’s office on Main Street. A worker at College Heights requested this morning that coffee, jelly, and canned meat be supplied.

Other needs, according to the church, include toilet paper, tarps, laundry detergent, condiments, pillows, towels, coffee, tea, sugar, powdered/flavored drinks and denture products.

Members of First Baptist Church will leave at 6 a.m. Friday to take the collected items to College Heights. Teams from First Baptist and Ozark Baptist will be working Friday to help sort collected items and clean up church members’ homes who were affected by the tornado.
